As part of the European BeActive Sport Weeks, the tri4ALL project organized a series of Open Days and inclusive sport activities across Europe to promote access to triathlon and paratriathlon for athletes with disabilities.
Events took place in several partner countries from August 20205 to May 2026, including Italy, Latvia, Hungary and Türkiye, involving local clubs, national federations, coaches, guides, volunteers and new athletes. Participants had the opportunity to discover the three disciplines of triathlon through practical sessions in swimming, cycling and running, with activities adapted to different abilities and levels of experience.
The Open Days combined sport practice with moments of presentation, technical guidance and awareness raising. In Italy, athletes joined multi-day training sessions in locations such as Telgate, Ladispoli, Milan and Florence. In Hungary, the programme included a paratriathlon national championship event in Pécs and an introductory camp in Tata. Latvia hosted an open para-aquathlon activity during the Latvian Aquathlon Championships, while in Türkiye swimmers were introduced to cycling and triathlon through practical sessions in Istanbul.
Beyond participation numbers, the most important result was the creation of new opportunities. Several athletes experienced triathlon for the first time, some began the process of obtaining licences, and local communities gained greater awareness of inclusive sport pathways.
Through these European BeActive Sport Weeks, tri4ALL strengthened its mission: making triathlon more accessible, visible and welcoming for everyone.
