Swim Bike and Run for ALL (tri4ALL) is a project promoted by Fitri that brings together ten other partner Federations to promote Paratriathlon with the aim of ensuring opportunities for athletes with disabilities, facilitating inclusion and at the same time sharing best practices among Paratriathlon Federations in Europe.
tri4ALL will last 18 months (from 1 December 2024 to 1 May 2026) and is an initiative funded by the Erasmus+ Call: ERASMUS-SPORT-2024-SNCESE - European non-profit sports events. The countries involved are Italy, Poland, Finland, Bulgaria, Latvia, Norway, Malta, Czech Republic and
Ireland. In Cogne, on the occasion of the 2025 Winter Duathlon and Winter Triathlon World Championships, the kick off meeting that officially launched the tri4ALL project was held on Saturday 22nd.
During the morning, all the details were illustrated to the representatives of the partner Federations, in particular the distance training activity for Paratriathlon coaches, a hybrid technical training program for classifiers and handlers, four workshops to discuss with experts from different sectors topics such as the inclusion of people with disabilities, gender equality, the involvement of people with disabilities in sport.
Furthermore, the activities related to the organization of a series of European sports weeks "Be active" on Paratriathlon organized by local clubs to encourage people with disabilities to start practicing sports and in particular multi-discipline were presented. Finally, the full immersion of the Paratriathlon Camp was presented, which will end with a competitive race (Race) in Taranto from 1 to 7 June 2025 in conjunction with the World Triathlon Para Series. Another key element of tri4ALL will be the launch of a major awareness campaign on sports inclusion that will be promoted through the initiative's channels and will aim to educate the public on the importance of integrating people with disabilities into sports and Paratriathlon. The communication plan, which includes the use of various platforms (social media, events, workshops and partnerships with athletes and influential organizations), will help highlight the benefits of inclusive sports through success stories and provide information on how individuals and communities can support and participate in sports activities dedicated to all.
The ultimate goal is to promote a sports culture that welcomes diversity and promotes equal opportunities for all athletes, regardless of their physical abilities. An important element will be the use of testimonials, i.e. athletes with disabilities who have successfully carried out their sporting commitment.
